1 · Evidence notes
English sample notes: separate observed work, future intentions and missing evidence. The situation is invented for teaching.
- Statistics student; academic support-ticket dataset.
- Initial dashboard had many charts but no clear action; student reframed around ticket triage.
- Interested in business analyst roles; no operational deployment or verified efficiency gain.
- Preparation and fallback plan: I would look for junior work that includes clarifying a user's question, checking data definitions and reviewing whether an output informs a decision. To prepare, I plan to rebuild the project around a short triage brief and document the limitations before choosing another model. A data-quality role could be a useful alternative if it includes close work with operational users. I would judge the opportunity by the feedback and responsibility offered. My first goal is to produce analysis a colleague can inspect and use, before seeking ownership of a larger analytics programme.
- Progress check: I would assess progress by whether users understand the proposed action and its limits, as well as whether I can reproduce the analysis.
- Dashboard detail: chosen charts because variables were available. Wrote an action beside each chart with a peer and removed views without a convincing use. Triage discussion improved; no operational rollout.
