Testing a market-entry comparison

Follow a developed example from evidence to paragraph planning, a full teaching draft and five review comments. The draft deliberately retains issues to discuss. These are fictional teaching cases, not real admission results; viewing them does not change your work.

1 · Evidence notes

English sample notes: separate observed work, future intentions and missing evidence. The situation is invented for teaching.

  • Economics student; fictional market-entry case.
  • Questioned copying a competitor with a different distribution network.
  • Interested in junior strategy analysis; needs stronger empirical and commercial judgement.
  • Preparation and fallback plan: I would seek a junior role where I can prepare market comparisons, check sources and explain the assumptions behind a recommendation. To prepare, I plan to revisit a case with a short evidence log: what is observed, what is inferred and what would change the decision. A commercial analysis role could be a relevant alternative to a formal strategy position if it offers exposure to those questions. I would value feedback on the reasoning and follow-through after a recommendation. I want to learn how a decision performs in practice before taking responsibility for a larger strategic agenda.
  • Progress check: I would keep a record of assumptions that changed after review, so that feedback improves the next analysis rather than only the final slide.
  • Analytical detail: student drafted initial entry recommendation and treated a competitor’s move as a shortcut. The case already specified different distribution capabilities; checked original passages rather than claiming new external facts.
