Attention is not understanding
Follow a developed example from evidence to paragraph planning, a full teaching draft and five review comments. The draft deliberately retains issues to discuss. These are fictional teaching cases, not real admission results; viewing them does not change your work.
1 · Evidence notes
English sample notes: separate observed work, future intentions and missing evidence. The situation is invented for teaching.
- Student campaign exercise for a fictional subscription service.
- Small message test suggested readers misunderstood the offer despite high interest.
- Interested in junior marketing insights roles; no causal sales result established.
- Preparation and fallback plan: I would prioritise junior roles that involve research questions, customer responses and decisions about messages or positioning. Before applying, I plan to document the test as a short learning note, including what we did not measure. I would seek feedback on whether the questions were neutral and whether our interpretation went beyond the responses. A marketing-analysis role would be a relevant alternative to a dedicated insights team if it offers supervised work with evidence. I want to develop judgement about research design before taking responsibility for a campaign's strategy or claiming its results.
- Progress check: I would assess my progress through the quality of the questions and the decisions they inform, rather than the visibility of a campaign.
- Test scope: readers saw a short description, not a working service. Asked them to describe expected features, grouped misunderstandings separately from comments on attractive wording; no purchase or repeat-use measure.
