1 · Evidence notes
English sample notes: separate observed work, future intentions and missing evidence. The situation is invented for teaching.
- Use the same economics student as the career case.
- Working-capital analysis exposed a gap between spreadsheet technique and accounting judgement.
- Previously organised two peer spreadsheet sessions; wants to bring assumption-checking exercises to classmates.
- Verified school connection: Business Valuation. Intended use, not a promise of a particular placement or outcome. See the linked official source.
- Answer allocation: explain the learning gap here; keep the detailed correction/conflict episode for the values answer, and the job-search sequence for career planning.
- Scope: owned working-capital assumptions, not the whole investment decision. Compared collection assumptions on a common basis. A peer asked whether the changed valuation reflected the business or the forecast; the student could explain the mechanics more easily than the commercial judgement.
- Peer activity: two spreadsheet sessions; circulate the file early, ask each participant to challenge one assumption, invite a different person to lead next time. A less confident participant prepared a collection-timing question after receiving the file.
